ABOUT US

OUR STORY

Welcome to the Williamstown Sportfishing & Game Club! â€‹

Founded in 1979 by Tony Flazon, our club was born from a passion for empowering local anglers with the skills and knowledge to master the open waters. Starting in the stunning Bermagui region, we set our sights on gamefish like marlin, shark, and tuna. Today, our members cast their lines in fishing hotspots around the globe, bringing new stories and techniques back home. â€‹

From humble 15-foot boats braving offshore waters to a fleet of diverse vessels—many over 30 feet—we've evolved, but our passion remains the same. While game fishing is at our heart, we embrace the the thrill of pursuing a variety of species, always on the lookout for the next big catch—or maybe even a mermaid!

We follow A.N.S.A. and I.G.F.A. rules, embracing the challenge of landing the heaviest fish on the lightest line. Our unique point system, based on each fish's "Fighting Factor," adds a competitive edge to every trip. For instance, catching a snapper with a fighting factor of 1.0 caught on a 2kg line would yield a point tally calculated as follows: 1.0 x 7.3 kg / 2 kg = 365 points. This adds an exciting competitive edge to our fishing pursuits! â€‹

Community is our backbone. We welcome families, juniors, and seasoned anglers alike, with regular competitions, ladies' fishing days, and events that celebrate the spirit of the sport.

Browse our photo galleries, check out upcoming events, and see what makes our club more than just a fishing spot—it's a family. We can't wait to welcome you aboard!
