FISHING YEAR
The fishing year aligns with the financial year, running from 1 July to 30 June annually.
ELIGIBLE SPECIES
All eligible species shall be as per the current ANSA Rules and Regulations handbook. All captures / releases must occur in Australian territorial waters (up to 200-mile offshore international limit)
MINIMUM POINT SCORES
Senior
25 points (2kg minimum line class for all club comps & conventions,
50 points (1kg minimum line class for all point scoring outside comps & conventions

Junior (Under 16 yrs)
No minimum point score, however all fish must comply with relevant state minimum length regulations, or where no minimum length applies, be a minimum length of 25cm

Freshwater: Including freshwater lakes, reservoirs, rivers, creeks, etc. above a point of tidal influence
Estuary: The mouth of a river or lake to the highest point of tidal influence
Land-Based: From land formations or on a platform structure, securely and permentantly attached to land, e.g. river/lake banks, surf beaches, rock formations, piers, jetties, etc.
Tag & Release Champion
Highest points aggregated for tagged and released eligible GFAA species
Highest Point Scoring Blue Water Fish
Highest points scoring of any eligible pelagic species
